The Indian Institutes of Technology ( IIT) Council on Wednesday struck a compromise with the human resource development ministry on the new pattern of entrance examinations.

 Here are its salient features: 

• There will be two exams, 

             1.The joint entrance examination (JEE) "main"
             2.followed by the JEE "advanced".

• Now ISEET will be from next year.At today meeting between Kapil Sibal and IIT council it has been decided that common entrance test will be conducted from next year .
• IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi  have not shown their cards but it appears that they are also convinced .
• But it is completely confirmed that test will be from next year
