PS: Please read this guide before you continue as this guide is an extension to that.
Let's say we have a few pictures that we would like to compress, the previous method will be time consuming.. so here we will automate the previous method.
1) Put all pictures in the same folder, open one of them using Irfanview.
2) Press 'B' on your keyboard or you can choose 'File' -> 'Batch Conversion/Rename' (important ones are highlighted in red)
3) Click 'Add all' to add all your pictures in the folder to the list and also set the settings the same as the picture above. Click 'Options' in the largest red color box above and make sure the setting is the same as the previous guide. After that, click 'Advanced' and set the settings as below and click OK.

Note that you may want to change the resolution of the 'Width' of 1024 above to your liking :)
4) Set the output directory (where your compressed files going to end up at) and then click 'Start Batch'! In the next window you will see the process of compressing each of your photos, when everything's is done, click 'Exit'. That's it!

End Note:
After you did the above for the first time, the settings will be saved. So next time when you need to compress, put all the pictures inside the same folder and then just...
1) Open one of the files with Irfanview and press 'B' on your keyboard.
2) Click 'Add all' and click 'Start Batch'. Done!

IrfanView is used in a series of guides in this site:
